Poems

I have been reading the book "The Remarkable Woman of the Bible" and came across these.
They really made me think.

#1
My life is but a weaving
between my Lord and me;
I cannot choose the colors
he worketh steadily.

Ofttimes he weaveth sorrow
and I, in foolish pride,
Forget that he seeth the upper,
and I the under side.

Not till the loom is silent
and the shuttles cease to fly,
Shall God unroll the canvas
and explain the reason why.

The dark threads are as needful
in the Weaver's hand,
As the threads of gold and silver
in the pattern he has planned.

#2
Dear one hold all things lightly and nothing tightly when it comes to God...
and that "all" includes your best, most costly treasures!

#3
Afraid of what?
To feel the spirit's glad release?
To pass from pain to perfect peace.
The strife and strain of life to cease?
Afraid - of that?

I so often I forget that all I need to do is trust in the Lord and he shall direct my paths. This was a good reminder.

That is indeed a good reminder--one that could never be given me too often! Thank you for sharing it.

"I need Thee every hour."

It's true though I too often forget it!

I love that first one but I haven't read it in a while. Thanks for posting it. Makes me think sometimes that if I could see things as God sees them I wouldn't worry so much.

Hey Andrea! How are you, my adopted friend? It has been a while since we've last talked! Hope everything's going well with you, your family and job...
I'll be coming out Christmas time, maybe we'll see eachother :)
Enjoyed the post --a great reminder amongst all the big-little trials of life
