I'm Not Dead!

Okay. It's time to update my blog. People are starting to ask if I died. I told them,"Yes!" The funeral was last Saturday and they missed it! I sorry to all of those who were not invited to my funeral. I would have loved to have you come, but I was not allowed to do my own invitations.

Lets see where do I start? A lot has happened since I last posted.

Well I guess I could just tell you about some of the... hmm .... what would you call the things I get myself into? adventures? .... any suggestions? anyways here are some of the more exiting things that have happened over the last few months.

#1.
I went to summer camp! well I was a camp counselor at a summer camp. After a friend of mine called about three times to beg and plead with me. I finally agreed to be a camp counselor for a Church summer camp. I always seem to forget that when I do something that for most people should be simple and easy turns out to be a mess for me.
The first day of camp the weather decided to turn nasty and downpour. The camp ground was cold wet and muddy. but we still all had a great first day. That night was one of the tests out of many to come.
It started off with me trying to tell the seven girls I was placed in charge of (ages nine to twelve) that drinking gallons of water just before they went to bed was not such a good idea. They insisted that they needed to drink that much water and that they always did that. So I made a bet with them that the next day when they were running on no sleep do to all the bathroom trips they would inevitably have to take during the night they would then know that I was right and that I am wise and always know best. =) ha ha!
The first night went something like this..
The bunk beds did not have any ladders so all SEVEN TIMES the girls had to get out of bed to go use the all so glamorous porta-potties I had to get out of bed and help them down and when they were done help them back up again.
To top that off the girls put together an orchestra for me that they played all night long.
They had a drum section, one of the girls would kick the foot of my bed in her sleep and the girl sleeping above me kicked her heels on the bed. They had the wind section, Three girls snored and one had gas. They even had one girl sing! This girl took a few years off my life when she called out in her sleep DON'T HURT ME! and then BUT I LOVE YOU!
The camp night guards gave my cabin an award for the most trips during the night.
The next day we were going to the water slides so I took great care in putting on sunscreen -not spending to much time in the sun and drinking a tun of watter.
But to no avail! I was cooked to the point my skin was cracking and bleeding I was blacking out and throwing up! In short I got sunstroke! but I was not about to give up! I stuck it out through the last night and day. Did you know that dancing and ruining when you have sunstroke doesn't feel very good?
At one point I fell to my knees blacking out. I said a prayer and peeled myself on the blacktop and kept going.
In the end several of the mothers came over to me to say that their girls kept talking about me and how I had been such a Godly example to the girls. It is a great feeling when God uses you for his glory!

My car was broken into!
Friday morning a few months ago I was on my way to work and found my car door slightly open. I thought my things on the front seat and looked inside to see my front seat had been laid all the way back my glove compartment was open, my stereo was gone, my thermometer was gone as well as a bag of clothes I kept in the car. My gloves for ice skating, my hands free set for my sell phone and the sun glasses I had just bought at the fair!
That was the third pair of sun glasses I that summer! I'm rather reluctant to buy another pair.
The police came and took a statement and looked at the car. I then went to work.
But of course the story couldn't just end there.
Apparently cars like mine have a security system on them that when a wire is cut that if you close the car door then open it the alarm will go on and you can't turn it off! so at 9:00 down town I was sitting in my car with the alarm going off unable to start the car to make it stop! apparently it also makes it so the car can't be started so it can't be stolen. So the alarm is blaring and I'm trying to hear my mom's voice on my cell phone so she could tell me how to turn the alarm off! people start coming out of their homes to glare at me. One woman came over to my car and told me to turn that thing off! at that point I was tired stressed and all I wanted to do was cry. I looked at the woman and said what dose it look like I'm trying to do! dose it look like I'm having fun! The woman looked at me surprised as if that thought had not occurred to her then walked away. Sharon (a coworker. thanks Sharon.)got a man from a car shop near by to come over and unplugged the battery for me. (I could not do it because I didn't have the tools.)
The insurance sent me a replacement stereo. ( That's a story all in it's self.)
It really could have been worse. The police said that most of the time the robbers just bash out a window and they bust the dome light out and because they put the drivers seat all the way back they didn't see the car cooler that I keep on the car floor.
God takes good care of me. =)
The good news is I got a new car!
It's a silver 2006 Nisson Sentra and it's my baby!

#3.
Today was my last day at my currant work place.
I start work as a nanny in two weeks for three Children.
There are two girls, one is four and the other is eight and then one boy, he is eleven.
The Job is the same amount of hours that I am working now except I will get better pay and hours. They are also going to give me health benefits through there business! Yeah Health Insurance....
So while you are all working away in your small offices I will be playing at the park or taking them to the water slide or maybe out for ice cream or a museum. The Sky's the limit.
God is so good! :)

That's it for now. I'll try to post more soon.

Not The Feet!

I just saw this on a friend's blog and thought it was kinda sweet.

The woman came out of a man's rib. Not from his feet to be walked on. Not from his head to be superior, but from the side to be equal. Under his arm to be protected, and next to his heart to be loved..."

I think it would stink to be under a Man's feet, literally!

God Is So Good!

Just a quick note to let you all know I now have a new job!

I never thought at any time in the last two and a half years that I would end up working at this particular business. My position is manager over a whole warehouse full of stock. Lots of organizing and computer work.

I thank God for providing me with such a wonderful place to work and a great boss to work for.

If you want the particulars just email me or phone. Thanks to everyone for your prayers and support.

True Love

Love is patient and Kind,
Love is not jealous or boastful,
It is not arrogant or rude.

Love dose not insist on it's own way,
It is irritable or resentful,
It dose not rejoice at wrong
but rejoices in the wright.

Love bears all things,
Believes all things,
Hopes all things,
Endures all things,
Love never fails.

Pirates of the Caribbean

Thursday night, Edward and I went with a group of friends to go see, "Pirates of the Caribbean".
We didn't get home till about 2:00 am. We could only get tickets several towns away so we carpooled. We had a great time!
The movie was definitely not as good as the first one.
The most upsetting scene was one of the first ones, they show a boy getting hung.
If you go to see this movie be sure to stay after the credits to see the extra scene. I found it to be quite funny. As if any woman is going to look exactly the same after ten years! I don't want to spoil the movie for anyone so I won't say anything more. If you go to see it, let me know what you think.

Construction Work

The past few days Edward (my brother)and I have been volunteering at a park to build several new playground areas. It's a really big project! The project costs $350,000 to build and is being built completely by local volunteers. I told the other volunteers forget the children I want to play on it when it's done! The park is going to be amazing when it is finished.

Every day that Edward and I have gone, for about the first hour, I have been the only girl there! It can be really intimidating but all the men there have been very protective and respectful of me.

So far I have gotten to move lumber. That was okay but if you are working with someone that is not being so careful, it is really easy to get hurt. I got hit in the gut with a 2x6 and then it was dropped on my foot, then the same boy almost dropped it on my head!

I think using the router is the best thing I have got to do so far. The only bad side to that was that the guy in front of me who was using an old router that threw wood chips kept that hitting me in the face and left some red marks for a while. Oh yeah... and wood chips don't taste good either.

Today they had us work on some steps for a slide. we got to do a lot of hammering drilling and screwing. Edward was fine but I ended up with some blisters on my hands. oh well.
It wouldn't have been so bad today but the rain made it miserable. The free coffee and food is nice though.

I have been really enjoying being part of this project. It really gives you a sense of being part of the community.

I have told my family that one day I will have to take my children to the park and tell them that when I was younger I work to help build part of this park, in the rain the mud and the cold with blisters on my hands and my face pelted with wood chips. They should get a kick out of that.

I have felt for some time that I wanted to do volunteer work but have not had the time to get involved. I thank God that He has provided this learning experience for both me and my brother. When this is finished I look forward to the next adventure.

A great woman.

This morning my Grandma Ann ( my Dad's Mom ) past away in her sleep.

She had been very sick for a long time.

The last time I talked to her she told me she was ready to go home and see God and her family she also thought it would be nice to see Moses.

My Grandma had a lot of love to give and she gave of it freely.

Every card she sent and phone conversation we had she would say the same thing ...
I love you so much, you will never know how much I love you, and I am so proud of you,

I will always remember her for the love she gave and her devout faith in God.

I love you Grandma I'll see you soon.

Happy Birthday Edward

By the Way, Yesterday was my Brothers 20th Birthday!
I can hardly believe it, The time has gone by so fast.
Happy Birthday Edward!
I love you!

I'm ready for Spring Weather!

I don't know about you, but I am so ready for spring weather!
Ready for the rain and wind to go away, the sunshine to come back and again warm my world.

This is one of my favorite verses..

Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not unto thine own understanding.
In all thy ways acknowledge him and he shall direct thy paths.

Random Thoughts

I don't really have anything to post about right now, but just wanted to you all to know I am still alive!

Someone told me that I should just post some random thoughts so here they are . . .

Why do people say that grass is green when grass can be brown or blue?

Why do people say the sky is blue when it can be black or gray?

Why do people say that water is blue when it can be clear, green, brown, or gray?

If you really think about the sayings people use every day they are actually quite funny, such as . . .

Hog wash. How many people wash their hogs?

Killing time. How can you kill time?

Hold your horses. I know you can hold the reigns but how do you hold a horse? It would be really heavy.

I can't wrap my head around that. That would hurt.

Money runs through your fingers. Money can't run. It has no legs.

Slower than a seven-year itch. Now that would be uncomfortable.

I'm dead tired. If you’re dead, you can't be tired.

My feet are killing me. If they are killing you sue them for attempted murder and get some new shoes.

Horse feathers. Horses don't have feathers.

Do you have any funny phrases?
